Food is about connection. It can forge a path to our past and bring us together now. When one eats a specific meal it can connect us to moments, atmospheres and people. The Foodles is a collection of brooches focused on specific food moments in imagery, but reach towards a shared impact. These brooches depict simplistic and colorful illustrations of these meals that are then laminated, like menus in a restaurant, before being set like precious gemstones. These wearable are intended to act as conduits to bring about conversations like memories of laughter around a table, a satisfied hum as someone chewed and sneaking around for a midnight snack. Yet, these conduits also act as reminders for appreciating those flavors and moments as they happen now. The Foodles act as badges of connection that are intended to impact, remind and be shared between we are and viewer.
